No, you don’t need a driver's license if you're over 16 years old. However, you must show valid photo IDs and proof of age (driver’s license, Sunlife card, passport, etc.) at the store. In the province Scooterize are legally classified as power-assisted bicycles. This means that they are bound by the same laws that apply to traditional bikes, not motorcycles or cars. If you're under 18, you're welcome to ride as a passenger. You must also be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who will sign a liability waiver.

Yes,  helmet is required by law under the age of 18.

You must be over 16 years old and provide two valid pieces of photo ID. Riders who are 18 or over do not require a driver's license to operate a scooter with pedals but must show valid photo ID and proof of age (driver’s license, Sunlife card, passport, etc.) at the point of rental.

 

No need for credit card for hourly rentals, however a credit card is required for long term rentals as we do hold a deposit. For hourly rentals we take their license or photo ID

A preauthorization is not a charge, but it places a lockdown on some of your funds. The available balance on your credit card is reduced by the amount of the preauthorization. Once you return your rental, the pre-authorization is immediately voided by Scooterize, but it may take up to 15 days to be released by your bank. During this time you will not be able to access those funds, so we recommend contacting your bank/credit card company with any questions.

Yes. You must provide a credit card for a temporary hold (a preauthorization). The preauthorization amount depends on the type of scooter, length of rental, additional optional items. It varies between $250 to $500 per rental scooter.

Reservation: All bookings must be one hour deposit that is refundable on store.

Modification: We can change your rental date at your request. Please contact us directly. Remember to provide us with the details of your previous reservation. A confirmation of modification will be sent by email, chat, SMS or confirmed over the phone. Credit will be refunded to the original payment method within 10 business days.

Cancellation: Scooterize has a free cancellation policy. You'll receive a full 100% refund even for last minute cancellations. You have up to 3 months after your pickup date to request a refund.

To modify or cancel a reservation, contact us directly with the details of your reservation.

Once you return your rental, the pre-authorization is immediately voided by Scooterize but it may take up to 5-7 working days to be released by your bank.

During this time you will not be able to access those funds, so we recommend contacting your bank/credit card company with any questions.

You'll be refunded to the same payment method you used for your booking.

We process approved refunds within 1-3 business days.

Once the refund is issued on our end, your bank or credit card provider can take up to 15 business days to issue the funds back to your account. It can also take longer if you're with a non-Canada or non-US bank. If your refund hasn’t appeared after 15 days, please contact your bank directly and ask about pending refunds on your account. You can provide them the transaction ID that appears in the refund receipt as a reference.

Most people learn in just a few minutes. However, just like learning to ride a bicycle, we recommend you practice until you're very confident before going out into traffic.
